Daems van Remoortere

Daems van Remoortere is an artist duo formed by Lena Daems and Frederik van Remoortere. Working at the inter­sec­tion of visual art, performance and spatial inter­ven­tion, the duo develops works that move fluidly between autonomous sculpture and multimedia instal­la­tions in the public realm. 

Drawing on ideas from physics, astronomy and mathematics, their practice reflects a fascination with systems, structures and precision, while subtly confronting viewers with the unsettling realities of humanity’s impact on the world — and on itself. Audiences are often invited to participate as co-actors, whose movements and decisions influence the unfolding of the work. 

Daems van Remoortere is represented by Berserk Art Agency and PONTI. The duo also maintains a long-standing rela­tion­ship with DE Studio.
